Ring it on ;)

Hello!

trendy jewelleryThe fashion world moves at a swift rate, and with each season comes with new trends for clothing and jewelry. For anyone who wants to keep their look updated, being aware of what the latest styles are is critical for keeping a fresh look. Jewelry offers a simple way to add new trends into a wardrobe without being too expensive

Sparkles and Shimmer
Sparkles and Shimmer This season, the more sparkle that a jewelry piece has the better it will look against a classic ensemble. Brilliant cuts of jewels and rhinestones are a must to be worn on all different types of accessories. When sparkly baubles are paired with shiny metals such as gold and silver, they ensure that all eyes will be on the person who wears them. For maximum impact, one bold and sparkly piece can be worn as a conversation starter at seasonal parties.

Mixed Metals
Mixed Metals

For the past several seasons, silver has been the go-to color for accessorizing, but now mixed metals are trending. For this look, silver and gold can be paired for a unique contrast. However, less traditional metals such as bronze and pewter are making a big comeback. These metals are ideal to wear with the darker shades of colors that are trending for the fall and winter seasons. Wear this style by pairing a bronze bangle with a golden-hued dress

Color Shock

Color Shock Many jewelry pieces are including just a pop of color against a silver or gold backdrop. On rings and bracelets, just a small band of colors such as bright pink or brilliant blue are being worn to introduce the element of surprise. Fashion is all about keeping one step ahead of people’s expectations, and this trend is sure to accomplish just that.

Wearing the latest jewelry trends is a fun way to accessorize outfits for work, dates and other special occasions.
Because jewelry always retains its value, buying a new piece is a great investment.
Exploring the latest trends in jewelry and incorporating them into the wardrobe is important for a person who wants to put their best foot forward towards making a great impression.

Pyjamas in Fashion!

Hello!

Despite the fact majority of fashionistas refuse to accept it as a fashion trend there is no way we can deny that pajamas were offered by designers as a popular item for Spring/ Summer 2012 fashion season. They appeared in plenty in Stella McCartney, Hermes, Clemence Ribeiro, Antonio Marras, Haider Ackermann, Jil Sander, Jonathan Saunders, and Richard Nicoll’s collections and were presented in a simple, understated way.

                                            stella-mccartney-spring-summer-2012

Pajamas of Spring/ Summer 2012 are classier and more stylish than pajamas we tend to wear at home. They come with interesting prints and colors, trimmed with lace and even embellished with crystals. However, it doesn’t make them good for special occasions.

Trendy pajamas are for dailywear only, for walks with your friends, shopping trips, or running errands.

How to wear trendy pajamas

  • If your pajamas come in a two-piece set wear them teamed with flat shoes, loafers or flip flops.
  •  If you choose to sport pants only, complement them with a no-fuss shirt that should be worn loose just below the trouserline or tucked in.
  •  Keep the look clean, with minimum of accessories!

Harms of an Ill-Fitting Bra !

Hello!

Bra ImageHaving a well-fitting bra is important for a number of reasons. A bra that fits properly looks great underneath one’s clothes and can accentuate a woman’s figure. Sadly, many women are in bras sizes that simply do not work for them. Women need to be aware that wearing a bra that doesn’t fit well can cause not only discomfort but may potentially cause injury.

There are some signs to look for to provide clues that perhaps your bra isn’t the right one for you.

  • When women are constantly having some sort of battle with their bra straps, this is a sign that there is a problem. They could be tugging at them, pulling them up or constantly adjusting them.

  • If they are too tight and worn that way over multiple years, one’s shoulders can become permanently indented. In some situations the nerves may also be affected. This could cause numbness in the shoulders.

  •  If a woman’s bra straps are too tight then they are bearing too much of the breasts’ weight. About 90% of the weight should be supported by the band and only 10% by the straps.

  • One major problem that can result from wearing the wrong fitting bra is poor posture. In many situations, large breasted women do not get the correct amount of support from their bra. Therefore, many of these women roll their shoulders forward in an attempt to draw less attention to their breasts. When this happens, their posture is adversely affected.

  • The tension of the muscles in the chest is affected. Also, the postural muscles of the back are weakened. To compensate for lack of support, some women bend forward. When this happens, the trapezius muscles become overstretched.

  •  Headaches may then result from the perpetual strain of the muscles. This can further progress into spinal issues as well as problems with breathing. Some women may experience pain in either or both breasts.

  • Abrasions to the skin may occur when bras are too small and actually cinch in the skin. These issues are even worse for large breasted women in the wrong bras.

  • Of course, another area that can experience pain from ill-fitting bras is the breasts. When women perform exercises or other activities that cause repetitive breast motion, pain can result if the bra isn’t fitting correctly. Also, add in perspiration, and this movement can lead to chafing of the skin. Having a sports bra that fits properly can help in this situation.
Before you go buy your next bra, make sure you have measured yourself properly. . When trying on bras not only make sure you’ve chosen the correct size according to current measuring but think about comfort as well. If you are trying on a bra and you are too aware that you are wearing it, it might not be the best choice for you.

Curling those lashes : know how :)

Hello!

Curling your eyelashes will really help to open up your eyes, especially if you have short or straight lashes. Invest in a good curler , which is comfortable to use. Never apply mascara before curling your lashes.

How to Curl Eyelashes: Step 21. Start by looking straight ahead in the mirror and positioning the curlers onto your eye, around your  upper lashes. Practise this a few times if you haven't used curlers before as it might feel a bit strange at first.

How to Curl Eyelashes: Step 3

2. When you're happy with the position, gently squeeze the curlers together. To get a good curl, squeeze the curlers in a pumping movement for 10 to 15 seconds.

How to Curl Eyelashes: Step 43. If you have long lashes, make sure you move the curlers up the lashes and repeat to ensure you curl  the whole lash. Once you're happy with the result, apply mascara.

How to Curl Eyelashes: Step 5
4.  If you look after your eyelash curlers, they'll   last a long time before you have to replace the pads. To clean them, take a cotton bud and gently wipe away any debris from the pads.

Greying Mature Hair !

Hello!

Whether you're 20 or 50 when you get your first grey hair, it happens to us all - and it presents a whole new set of hair styling challenges.

Grey Hair Texture

Going grey isn't just about losing your colour - what makes it a tough pill to swallow is the change in texture. "White hair occurs because the follicle stops producing melanin, which is our hair's natural pigment," explains Andrew. "But one of the biggest issues that women face once they get past their mid-40s is that the hair fibre starts to change. Grey hair is colourless and it's usually quite coarse. It changes texture and it's not easy to manage.

Short Hair or Long Hair?

There's a terrible rumour going around that as soon as we hit 'a certain age' we're supposed to chop our hair off. This is absolute nonsense. Women should feel as confident as possible about themselves - whatever their age. Women in their 40s, 50s and 60s go through so much change in their bodies, and emotional change through their hormones, that cutting their hair off can leave them distraught. They'd feel less sexy at a time when they may not be feeling that sexy anyway, and it would be a real blow to their self-esteem."

So keep your lovely long hair - but be ready to treat it differently. "You have to follow some simple rules. If you're going to keep it long you can't wear it hanging down in a centre parting like a pair of curtains. Most 20-year-olds can't get away with that. You have to wear it with some body and bounce - things like heated rollers can really help to make the hair fuller."

"It's just about making the hair look its best, With some body and shape to it, with a good colour and nice condition, long hair can look gorgeous into your 60s and 70s.

How to Clean your makeup Brushes!

Hello!

It's important to wash your make-up brushes regularly as they harbour dirt and bacteria that can cause spots. I recommend washing them every week.

Cleaning make-up brushes can be done in two ways: you can use an instant brush cleanser for a quick cleanse, or if you want to give them a really thorough clean, wash them with shampoo and leave to dry overnight.

Make sure that you don't get any water on the handle or the ferrule of the brush (the ferrule is the part that holds the brush fibres to the handle) - this will damage the brush fibres and make your brush moult.

  • Put some mild shampoo or washing up liquid in the palm of your hand, and swirl the brush into it. Then rinse clean under running water. I like to give big powder brushes a quick condition after shampooing, to leave them really soft, but you don't need to do this for all your brushes.

                                 Cleaning make-up brushes

  • Gently swirl the brush onto a clean tea towel or hand towel to wipe off excess water. Whilst the brush is damp, reshape it and place it to dry on the edge of a table.

A little about nail care !

Hello!

Healthy nails are a short cut to looking well-groomed but they do need a bit of taking care to keep them in good condition. If your nails are less than photo-ready, get your hands out of your pockets and follow our easy nail care tips.

Nail Health

Good nutrition will keep your nails flexible and strong and your cuticles well-conditioned. "Nutrition has a huge impact on circulation - and it is blood that carries the nutrients you eat to the matrix of nails,"

. Include plenty of the following in your diet: green leafy veg, raisins, almonds and poultry (iron); eggs, spinach, broccoli and carrots (vitamin A); and Brazil nuts, steak and pumpkin seeds (zinc).

Exposure to water, chemicals, soaps and detergents will weaken your nails - so wear rubber gloves when cleaning. "Never use nail varnish remover containing acetone if you have weak nails - it makes them worse.

Ridges on Fingernails : As the nail grows from the nail bed, there is sometimes a temporary disturbance in the growth, which results in a corrugated appearance or ridges - it's totally natural and nothing to worry about.

Cuticle Care: Having healthy cuticles is a key way to ensure that your nails grow evenly and have a good colour. Cuticles are often neglected and mistreated, so apply hand cream after washing hands to prevent them drying out and becoming ragged. If yours are in particularly bad shape, or you use household chemicals regularly, rub cuticle cream to the base of your nails daily to stimulate circulation, promote growth and prevent hangnails from forming.

Neem leaf extract (used in Ayurvedic medicine for treatment of nail problems) encourage nails to grow stronger and encourages formation of healthy nail tissue .

White Flecks on Nails : White flecking occurs typically when trauma to the delicate nail fold (under the cuticle) receives a knock or bang, but occasionally it can be a zinc deficiency. The NHS recommends you get 4-7mg of zinc per day from meat, shellfish, dairy, bread or cereal products.

3 Nail art designs : Do it at home :)

Hello!

Nail art is bang on-trend, so get inspired with three easy nail art designs: polka dot nails, leopard print nails and newspaper nails.

You will need:
At least two nail varnishes
A hair grip

Polka Dot Nails!
  1. Paint your nails with one of your colours. Allow it to dry.
  2. Take your hair grip and bend it until it's straight.
  3. Dip the end of the hair grip into your second nail varnish.
  4. Using the round end of the hair grip, dab it on to your nails. The round end creates a perfect polka dot.
  5. Repeat on all nails and voila - perfect spotty nails!

Leopard Print Nails

You will need:
Two contrasting nail varnishes
Black nail art pen

  1. Paint your nails with the base colour. Allow it to dry.
  2. Paint dots on the nail using the contrasting colour. The less perfect, the better the effect - so don't worry if they're different sizes and shapes.
  3. Use the nail art pen to outline the dots.

Newspaper Print Nails

You will need:
A pale nail varnish
A sheet of newspaper
Scissors
An eggcup of vodka (or any other alcohol)
A clear nail varnish or topcoat
  1. Cut the newspaper into 10 pieces, roughly two inches wide and one inch long (more than enough to cover a fingernail).
  2. Apply two coats of pale nail polish and let it dry completely.
  3. Dip one fingernail in the vodka.
  4. Press a strip of newspaper onto the nail, being careful to cover the whole nail and to keep it still. Allow the vodka to soak through.
  5. Peel the paper off slowly (and be really impressed with yourself).
  6. Once every nail is done and the vodka has dried, apply a top coat of clear varnish.

Transforming old shoes into new ones ;)

Hello!

Step 1

Buy some material, such as a glitter fabric .You will also need clingfilm, sticky tape, scissors, leather adhesive and string.

Step 2
Cover the heel in clingfilm to make a template for the glitter fabric. Then cover the whole heel area with sticky tape.

Step 3
Making sure that the whole heel is covered, draw around it with a marker pen - this will act as a pattern for the glitter fabric.

Step 4
Using a stanley knife, score the clingfilm down the back of the shoe and open it up. This will act as your pattern.

Step 5
Cut out the pattern and use it as a stencil on the glitter fabric. Draw around the stencil, cut it out and check it fits.

Step 6
Apply leather adhesive to the heel. Wait until the glue goes tacky to the touch.

Step 7
Stick the fabric to the heel and trim off any excess pieces.

Step 8
Tie some string around the heel to secure the fabric in place. Leave it to dry for five to 10 minutes.

Style Tips for diferent Face Shapes (part2)

style for round faces

Top Style Tips for Round Faces

1. Keep earrings thin and long as otherwise they can add width to your cheeks.

2. Create the same streamline effect with long pendants and necklaces.

3. Wear V-necks, wrap styles, deep scoops and single-breasted jackets (which also create the deep V-shape) to keep the neck area open. These also help elongate your neck if it is short or, if you are petite, it will help give the illusion of height too.

4. Steer away from polo and crew necks.

style for square shaped facesTop 5 Style Tips for Square Faces    1. Learn to soften features with feminine tricks. Don't go for angular jewellery; look for softer shapes to diffuse any harsh lines.

2. Avoid long, dangly earrings as these will make your jawline look even squarer.

3. Stay away from horizontal lines around your neck, such as polo or turtle necks.

4. Instead, go for lower necklines; a cowl neck is perfect as the draping folds of cloth will flatter any harsh lines from your jaw.

5. Waterfall collars and ruffle detail will help diffuse angular features.

style for triangle face shapesTop Style Tips for Triangular Faces   1. Have fun with statement earrings, but get the shape right for perfect symmetry. Go for drop styles with details, width or shape at the bottom, so you are adding more width below your ears to balance a wide forehead.

2. You can carry off the popular 'bib' style or collar necklaces that sit high on your décolletage (chest area).

3. Add soft, feminine touches to your neck with pussy-bow blouses, waterfall collars and high ruffle necklines to create focus below your chin.

4. If that's too girly for you, wear a classic fitted shirt, but wear the collar open and add a sexy patterned neckerchief.

Style tips for different Face Shapes ! (part1)

clothes for heart-shape faceTop 5 Style Tips for Heart-Shaped Faces
1. Don't exaggerate a pointy chin with shapes that mirror your chin shape, such as V-necks or halternecks.

2. Instead, go for softer shapes, like a curvy scoop-neck, boat-neck or asymmetrical styles.

3. Use horizontal lines to take your eye across and not down the body.

4. Wear scarves, slung around your neck, or tied to the side.

5. Go for big statement earrings rather than feature necklaces; long and dangly in style will work best as they will take the focus away from your chin and up to your cheekbones.

style for long face shapesTop 5 Style Tips for Long Faces
             1. Long face shapes are elegant and graceful especially if you have a long neck too. Only you can get away with Victorian choker styles, which always look sexy on the right face shapes.

2. Short beads or feature necklaces are best for you; they look funky and will flatter a long neck.

3. Play with statement earrings but don't go for long dangly styles - keep the action at ear lobe level.

4. A polo, crew or boat neck will create horizontal lines that create the illusion of a rounder face.

5. Steer away from any plunging necklines and especially V-necks or halternecks, as these will elongate your head and neck. However, break the rule if you have a very short neck and want to make it appear longer and slender.

style for oval face shapesTop 5 Style Tips for Oval Faces
             1. Oval shapes have perfect symmetry, so your choice of clothes and accessories (opens in a new window) are endless.

2. Experiment and have fun with necklines to enhance your best features.

3. Play with your jewellery; you can wear almost any style but don't go for too chunky earrings unless you want your face to appear rounder.

4. Oval-shaped faces (being slightly longer than round faces) can get away with some high necklines, such as crew necks, but be cautious with even higher necklines, like polo necks, especially if you have a short neck, as this will make the face round, not oval.

5. Remember, tops with the classic V-neck are always a winner as they will streamline your neck.

8 Things to Do When You Try on Clothes

Hello!

Who hasn’t bought clothes that end up hanging untouched in the closet? Even if the clothing fit well when you tried it on, some surprising factors may have led to your shopping regret. Deliberating your purchase in the dressing room rather than rushing to the cash register will help you “invest in long-lasting pieces that you’ll pull out of your closet again and again,”
What exactly should you consider? Do these eight things in the dressing room and you’ll wind up with a wardrobe you love.

1. Read the care instructions.

Ask yourself: “Does the garment require special care—hand-wash or dry-clean only—and am I willing to follow these instructions?” And don’t forget to factor in the cost and hassle of dry-cleaning or hand-washing before you buy.

2. Conduct a wrinkle test.
To make sure the fabric wears well all day long, scrunch it in your hand and hold for a few seconds. If it’s wrinkle-free after releasing the fabric, it isn’t likely to be wrinkled at the end of a day of wear. If the item is wrinkled in your hand—or on the hanger—you may want to skip this purchase.

3. Try it on as an outfit.
Some women will try on a fancy top with the jeans they wore running out the house. This makes it difficult to judge the true look of the itemInstead, try on the piece with shoes and the appropriate bottoms or top,” . If there’s an item you’re eyeing, take key pieces to the dressing room that complete the look, or ask a salesperson to assemble an outfit from other items in the store. Some dressing rooms already have heels on hand to help you evaluate dressier pieces.

4. Do a mental run-through of your closet.
Many of us stick to styles and colors we already own. Think about whether you’d be doubling up if you bought the piece you’re trying on. Also, make sure your upcoming purchase can be integrated into your existing wardrobe. “New clothes should coordinate with and be mixed and matched with what you already own.Take a peek in your closet before you shop, so its contents are fresh in your mind.

5. Get a rear view.
No matter how you pose in front of the dressing-room mirror, it’ll take extra effort to see your backside, . But it’s worth it. Get an accurate glimpse in a three-way mirror whenever possible. Or take out your makeup compact, turn around with your back to the dressing-room mirror and use your little mirror to check your reflection. If you have time, get an even better grasp on all-around fit by trying on two sizes of the same item.

6. Seek out natural lighting and mirrors.
Dressing-room lighting can change how you think the clothes look on you. “Super-bright lights can make you look washed-out,” “But in too-dim lighting, you won’t notice if a top is sheer. Tilted mirrors can also be misleading, elongating your figure and making you think the clothes are slimming.
Find mirrors that are flat against the wall to get an accurate reflection. And beware of this sneaky store trick: Some disguise leaning mirrors with a thick frame, so they look like they’re flush against the wall when they’re actually tilted. In that case, step out of the dressing room for a fair assessment.

7. Move around.
Simply posing in front of the dressing-room mirror isn’t enough to get a feel for fit. Instead, “sit, bend over and stand on your tip-toes if you’re wearing flats.Getting the full range of fit, length and comfort will alert you to certain surprise factors,” like a button that digs into your stomach or a jacket that restricts your arms.
Sitting in pants and skirts is especially crucial because something that fits you standing up can suddenly seem too tight when you’re sitting down. And if you’re wearing the item to a party, dancing in it is a good idea—you may want to stay out of sight of fellow shoppers, though.

8. Check the details.
You may know to test zippers and check that all buttons are in place and there are no loose threads. But you should also see if there’s enough additional fabric to make alterations. A few simple changes can make almost any piece of clothing look perfect for your body, —and add longevity to your purchase too. So turn the garment inside out and look for at least one centimeter of extra fabric at the seams.

All about Mouth Care!

Hello!

Most of us spend time, effort and money on beauty products, makeup, clothes and other beauty accessories. But we neglect to take care of the most important parts of the human body - the mouth. Oral maintenance is where most people fail; it may be because of ignorance, bad habits, or plain laziness. Most of us think that mouth is hidden and not noticed by anyone but this is not true after eyes, the mouth is the next thing people watch especially when you smile and begin to talk. The mouth is important as it is the entry for food, drinks, and even air into your inner organs.

Tips for a healthy and fresh mouth

Take time to care your lips. Dry, chapped lips are unpleasant and indeed not nice to kiss. Use a lip balm or moisturize for soft and smooth lips. Taking care of your lips helps in preventing lipstick bleeds in your later years.

Gargle with water after eating. Food particles that are logged between the teeth and gums should be gently removed. Gargle at least three times to dislodge smaller food particles.

Brush your teeth twice a day. Bacteria that are present in our mouth begin damaging your teeth within 24 hours that's why dentists recommend brushing twice a day to consistently interrupt their growth. It's always good to brush your teeth before going to bed.

Use a tongue scraper. Most of the odor coming out from the mouth comes from microscopic, decaying food particles trapped on the tongue's surface. Use a gentle plastic tongue scraper for a cleaner and healthier tongue.

Use a straw. When you drink colored beverages like tea, cola use a straw because colored beverages tend to discolor your teeth. This will minimize the contact with the teeth and preventing ugly stains.
Reduce tobacco, alcohol, coffee, soda pop, commercial fruit juice, and sugar intake. Tobacco, alcohol and coffee leave a distinct odor in the mouth and may stain teeth, while sodas and commercially fruit juice have sugar content that can harm teeth.

Be careful regarding harsh toothpastes and tooth whiteners. Abrasive toothpastes and strong tooth whiteners weaken teeth and increase tooth sensitivity.

You can take mint candy or chewing gum as a quick breath freshener . Mint candy or chewing gum can be used as a quick breath freshener.

Consult a doctor or dentist . In case of any oral, throat, and respiratory problems visit your doctor or dentist. Most of the tooth diseases are cured during their early stage.

For extra beautiful mouth and lips, add a smile and speak words of kindness and love.

Eye Make up - For different eye shapes!

RihannaAlmond Eyes

Almond eyes are the ideal shape to work with because you can do almost anything with them. "You always want to take eyeliner from the inside corner, past the outside corner, wing it--just to draw attention to the beauty of that eye shapeuse color eyeshadow on the top lid , as this will help open up the eye.

Kim KardashianDeep Set Eyes

The goal with deep set eyes is to help pop them open with light colors. "Keep your light color on the lid so that you're bringing the eye forward and keeping it open," . "You could also apply a highlighting arch close to the lash line and use a warm color under the brow bone" to create a multi-dimensional look. Lastly, use a thin smudged line close to the lash line to make lashes look longer.

Ginnifer Goodwin
Close Set Eyes

The biggest trick with close set eyes it to keep the lightest colors on the inner corner of your eye. "You want to graduate your color from light to deep, going from inside to outside,"  "This is going to give the illusion that the eyes are further apart." When it comes to liner, only swipe it across two-thirds of your eye, like Ginnifer Goodwin did, because it helps eyes look further apart.

Brandy
Wide Set Eyes

According to Susan, who's applied shadow to models and celebrities everywhere, wide set eyes are the easiest eyes to work with. You can line them anyway you like, much like an almond-shaped eye. "Most people are afraid of deeper color in the inside corner, but you can do that with a wide set eye,"  "It can make the nose look more angular and interesting."

Blake LivelyHooded Eyes

A hooded eye is where you can barely see the lid, like Blake Lively's eyes. With this shape, start by applying your warmer, contouring color on the base of your brow bone and blend it up to the eyebrow. Then take your lightest color right up underneath the brow, to create a shape. Lastly, apply that same light color, starting on your lid, and sweeping vertically. "With a hooded eye, people see your eyes horizontally. "When you apply shadow vertically you're opening up the eyes."

Nicole Richie
Prominent Eyes

With a prominent eye-shape, sometimes known as a bulging eyes, it's best to stick to nudes and neutrals, Susan said. "You're trying to softly recede a prominent eye, but if you go too dark it's going to look too obvious, and if you go too light it's going to look more bulging." If you're using bright colors, apply them below your bottom lashes so you're creating a shift of focus. skip eyeliner and opt for false lashes instead. "When you have longer lashes, it will set the eye back."

Paris Hilton
Droopy Eyes

Droopy eyes are when the outer corners of the eyes pull down--something that happens frequently with hooded eyes and in older women. "Keep the outside of the eye extra light, so the focus is upward,". "With liner,  really extend it up and out, creating a cat eye of sorts, so that outside corner is pulled away from the eye completely and lifts it up."
