Step by Step Copper Eye Makeup Process

The reason why copper eye makeup is very popular is that the color complements the natural black color of the eyes. The copper color helps to play up the eyes within minutes; it gives the effect of boosting the size of one’s eyes.
  • Apply the primer around the eyes concentrating especially on the upper eyelid.
  • Apply a thin line of black eyeliner on the lower lid of the eye. If you want an understated look, opt for a brown eyeliner instead of black, which generally gives a popping effect to the eye.
  • Dust golden color eye shadow from the inner corner of the eye extending till the middle of the upper eyelid.
  • Dust copper color eye shadow starting from the outer corner of the eye extending till a little beyond the middle of the upper eyelid. Make sure that the golden and copper colors blend well into each other. Use a brush to apply the eye shadow instead of using your fingers.
  • Also make sure that the copper color shadow is a shade darker than the golden shadow to help your eyes get that extra dimension.
  • Apply the copper color eyeliner in a thick line on the upper eyelash.
  • If you have short eyelashes, use a curler to accentuate their length. You can also opt for false eyelashes, which however have to be put in place after applying the primer.
  • The use of mascara is also optional. It adds a dramatic effect to the eye and thus is to be used only if you are stepping out of home in the evening.
  • One trick to make your eyes look bright and expressive while applying copper eye makeup during the day is to rub a tiny amount of copper color shadow just under the eyebrow bone. This tip also helps to highlight the natural frame of the face.
  • Choose a brownish tone of copper eye shadow for the daytime and red toned copper eye shadow for the evenings and nights.
  • Remember to apply translucent powder on the face if you have chosen copper makeup for the eye. This helps to hide the flaws on the face and highlights the eyes.
