Sandalwood and Turmeric - Herbal Products par Excellence

When it comes to herbal products, India has an extensive history of the same. Indian women have been known for their beauty because of this history. Of all the different herbal products used, there are two ingredients that are often used in their making - sandalwood and turmeric.

Sandalwood : Better known as chandan, sandalwood is perhaps one of the most common ingredient for herbal skincare products in India. Its fragrant extract is full of benefits for the skin, all of which have been widely used in the country and the world for hundreds of years. Sandalwood oil is one of the essential oils for the skin. It can be used to decrease inflammation and redness on the face and skin quite easily.

Sandalwood oil is often used as an anti-aging skin care method. It slows down the onset of fine lines and wrinkles on the skin. It is also effective in moisturizing dry skin, especially when used asking with rose water. It also has a calming effect on the body, which makes it an oil commonly used in aromatherapy as well.

Turmeric : Ladies, the spice that you use nearly everyday in the kitchen has plenty of uses outside. There are many benefits for the skin associated with turmeric. It is known to prevent acne and dry skin, asking with providing relief for eczema. It also gives the skin a shine and keeps it soft and supple. There are few skin care problems that cannot be solved with the application of turmeric in paste form to the skin.

Turmeric has been shown to bring a cure in early cases of psoriasis and hyper-pigmentation. And this is not all. Even every day skin problems such as blemishes on the face, blackheads, whiteheads and sun damage are soothed thanks to turmeric! Known as haldi, it is used frequently in pre-wedding rituals by brides in many parts of South-East Asia. It even enjoys a popularity in the east as a face wash paste and exfoliating agent.
