What to look for in a mascara !

Hello!

What to look for in mascara?

If your mascara has already started to dry out take it back for a refund or a new tube. To prevent your new tube from drying out, don't pump the wand into the mascara. This carries air down into the tube, speeding up the drying out process.

You should also avoid choosing a brand that offers a big brush. A large brush means that the tube has to have a larger opening, which allows more air to enter the tube, and means it will dry out faster.

What is normal? How many lashes should fall out weekly?

This is perfectly natural for a few lashes to fall out but remember to be gentle when you remove your mascara. Never wipe or pull at the lashes. It is also a good idea to pay attention to how much mascara you use. The more you use, the harder it is to remove and the wear and tear on delicate lashes can cause them to fall out.

Additional tips to avoid eyelash lost: Avoid waterproof mascara as they are the hardest to remove.

How to make a banana bun!

Hello!

The banana bun has been around a long time but it was brought back into the game by Priyanka Chopra in the movie Don 2. We love the idea of this bun for a formal occasion, and luckily for us, it isn’t as complicated as it looks.

Step 1: Start off by blow drying washed hair. While blow drying your hair, use a paddle brush to give direction to the nozzle. The paddle brush smoothens hair out and keeps it from getting frizzy. Make sure hair is completely dry before you begin styling.

Step 2: Moving from ear to ear section hair out into two parts- the front half and the back half. Pin the front half and back comb the other half in sections using a rat tail comb. Use a holding spray like L'oreal Professional Hair Constructor, to retain the volume brought on by back combing. Backcombing helps keep the hair in place. Without it, the freshly washed and conditioned hair tends to get too slippery to work with.

Step 3: Pull all the back combed hair onto one side and secure them with hair pins placed vertically.

Step 4: Moving towards the middle of the head, roll the hair starting from the ends to the roots. Using U-pins secure the bun into place. Tuck in any extra bits with hair pins.

Step 5: Section the front half of the hair into three parts- two on either sides and one at the crown. Neatly comb the sections on either sides and pin them under the bun.

Step 6: Gently make a pouf with the hair at the crown of your head and pin it into place. The pouf adds volume and brings an fun dimension to otherwise very serious up-dos. We recommend adding a floral hair accessory or a jeweled one depending on the occasion.

Eye foundation

Hello!

Let's know a bit about eye foundation ...

Why do you need eye foundation?

Everyone should use eye foundation because it makes your eye make-up last longer, prevents creases in your eye shadow and prevents smudges. This is especially important in the summer months when you tend to sweat more and due to allergies your eyes may be itchy and watery.

How do you apply eye foundation?

Use either the supplied wand or make-up sponge to apply across the eyelid an up to the eye brow. Eye foundation tends to be thicker then most foundations - so keep in mind a little goes a long way.

How to Dress 10 pounds thinnner!

Hello!

The way you dress up can really define your body and if you're on the heavier side, you can really tone yourself down with the help of some clever clothing techniques !

  • Start with the butt - Your bottom and hips will always look thinner when you are dressed in a solid color and it doesn't even have to be black it can be a beautiful incandescent hot pink if you like but solids tend to slim where other patterns don't. Now a lot of us don't go around wearing patterned pants but a lot of us wear patterned dresses and skirts - so be warned.

  • De-emphasize your waist - If you are trying to deemphasize your waist and or your middle then avoid crop jackets because they break up your natural lines rather then help you create long, lean lines.

  • Smaller bust - if you are small busted then try for some wrap shirts, which will give you the illusion of a bigger bust and smaller waist.

  • Big hips - go for some flat front pants, which are always a winner.

  • Big hips - don't be afraid to go for a black pencil skirt with black hose. It will make your hips do a disappearing act.

  • Big Bust - avoid lighter colors on top for they will over-emphasize your bust size and go for a geometric-shaped top with a slim pant and you will have a more balanced look.

  • Trying to play up your waist - try a slightly raised waist that tends to make the torso look narrower and a flared skirt which also makes the waist look narrower.

  • Unless you are a super model avoid horizontal stripes.

  • Only buy a pleated skirt if the pleats are stitched down and don't bunch up at the waist adding thickness.

Get lilac in your eyes !

Hello!

Using color on your lids can be intimidating if you have gotten comfortable with a "natural" look. Topull you out of your rut, we show you how to add a touch of color without too much fuss. The color of choice - lilac. While purple is a great alternative for fall, its paler counterpart is totally Spring worthy.

Step 1: After prepping your eyelid with concealer and setting it with translucent powder, run a dark blue eyeliner pencil all over your lid. Gently smudge with a clean finger. This now creates an excellent base for the shadow.

Step 2: Line the lower rim of your eye, with the same dark blue eyeliner pencil so you frame your eyes with color.

Step 3: Using a dense eye shadow brush, apply a matte purple shadow all over your eyelid moving upwards and outwards towards the edge of your eye brow. This is a great trick to lift your eye.

Step 4: With a dark blue liquid eyeliner trace a line along the upper lash line. Extend it beyond the length of your eyelid to create a winged eyeliner effect. The blue eyeliner makes for a great combination with purple lid as oppose to the often done black.

Step 5 : Finish off with a your favorite lengthening mascara

Avoiding Late night eating!

Hello!
You inhale a light yogurt for lunch and eat hardly anything all day so by the end of the day you are so hungry that all your discipline goes out the window. You have a night eating habit and are someone who uses food not as fuel but as an antidote to stress.
There are two troubling behaviors that come into play with night eating and those are mindless consumption and lack of portion control. This can make trying to lose weight extremely difficult and can also increase the likelihood of obesity.

Why do we eat at night?

Many women eat late at night because that is the only time of day that they get in any peace and carbohydrates offer stress relief because they raise the level of serotonin, the good mood chemical in the brain that makes us feel at ease.
Other diet minded women eat very little during the day thinking their self -discipline will carry them through the evening, only to have the strategy backfire. Going for long period restricting food makes it harder to eat reasonable when you begin to eat.

Tips to stop night eating?

Don't starve all day. Make sure to eat breakfast, lunch and snacks so you are not ravenous in the evening.
Curb your appetite- Try a drink that nutritionist call Citrus Chill which is a squeeze or lemon and lime and some artificial sweeter over crushed ice. Try one of these before dinner and after dinner.

Set a clear food cut off time - Try brushing your teeth at 7:30 pm and designate that as your food cut off time. This is hard at first but gets easier over time.

One Shoulder Wave !

Hello!

The one shoulder wave has been one of the biggest hair trends this year and it is for good reason. Its dressy, stylish and can be put together in minutes. . About the look , It is romantic, glamourous and very versatile.

Step 1: Start off by parting your hair in a zig-zag side part.
The zig zag part is great because it is not as strong as a regular parting and keeps your hair from laying flat on your scalp.

Step 2: At the crown of your head, section your hair into two parts. Using a 1-inch barrel curling iron, start curling the lower section the your hair.
Before you c.url, apply a shine spray all over your hair. The heat from the iron helps keeps your hair
looking shiny for a long time. Move onto the upper half later.

Step 3: Once all your hair is curled, brush it onto one side with a paddle brush. Starting from the base of you neck, start pinning sections of your hair using a hair pin.
Be careful not to let let flyaways escape. Use a bit of the shine spray to bring in all the hair and pin it up tightly

Step 4: With your fingers, gently fluff the hair on your shoulder to separate a few curls. This gives more movement to your hair. If need be, spritz on a little hairspray for all day hold.
